Falcons - Mile High Horsies

Postby elprof » Sun Oct 09, 2016 4:21 pm

I generally hate it when my two favorite teams play, but I am COMPLETELY rooting for the Falcons today.

Denver got a 3rd (and highly unexpected) title last year, so it's the Falcons' turn. They need this win more than the Broncos.
Virtually everything GOP critics have told us would follow from the policies put in place has not come to pass. You would think that this would occasion a few mea culpas, some rethinking, an admission of poor prognostication. But, alas, it continues.

At worst they'll go 2-1 against Carolina, Denver and Seattle.

Who wouldn't have taken that at the start of the season?

I'd feel better had they not collapsed last year. So for now, it's cautious optimism.

This X 1000

One year ago today they beat the Washington football team in OT to go to 5-0. One week after absolutely trucking the the Texans, which looked huge at the time. And then....

That said, going into Denver and winning is impressive in just about any year.

Rise up, bitches.

This Denver game was penned in for a loss by most the minute the schedule came out. It's one of the reasons that I hate offseason NFL talk past April. You just have no idea how it's all going to shake out. You can say the Falcons have the toughest schedule in the league, but you really don't know until you play the games.

Besides that, it's interesting to see the way the offseason game plan unfolds. It seems like one week they'll target Julio a bunch and then the next week they'll hit the RB's a lot in the passing game.

Two words - Aquib Talib

Plus if you don't adjust in the NFL, you'll get ate up. It's like a 103 mph fastball that doesn't move.
