OUR Atlanta Hawks

Didn't get a chance to see the opener, but I saw that Dwight had 11 and 19.

And Hardaway has 21 with 12 of those in the 4th quarter.

We now have more wins that the Warriors. Time to clean house in Oakland. :chewy:
Virtually everything GOP critics have told us would follow from the policies put in place has not come to pass. You would think that this would occasion a few mea culpas, some rethinking, an admission of poor prognostication. But, alas, it continues.

They looked good. Everything was working like it was intended.

It's going to be fun watching Howard play. I wasn't sure how to feel about the choices the hawks made this off season but after 1 game I'm intrigued. Schroder wasn't very good but I liked Delaney as the backup. Korver never got going, and I'm not sure we should ever expect to see Hardaway Jr. Play like that again all season. One thing I'm sure of is that we haven't seen a force down low since maybe dikembe. Howard cleans the glass as well as anyone in the game.

Game 2 - Dwight with limited minutes, only 2 points and 7 boards and Atlanta wins by 30 anyway.

That's called balance. I approve.

Didn't see it but why the limited minutes? Just resting?

I think he got into some early foul trouble. By the time it was "safe" to put him back in the Hawks were kicking ass so there was no need to give him the minutes.

If Dwight stays interested, he'll be a tremendous add. Maybe this will be the year he shuts all the non-believers (like me) up.

If only they could get Josh Smith to agree to a contract that restricts him from ever taking a 3...

Also, I fear Dwight may not be a good enough passer to operate at the top of the key in buds offense.

Ugly win last night. Refs whistles prevented any type of flow from either team.

The Kings have a lot of stud athletes.

3-0 = no complaints today.

$119 for the NBA League Pass for one team is a freaking awesome invention. Figuring they only play maybe 20 times total on ESPN/NBA/TNT or when the play the Magic and Heat, I'm getting the other 60 games for $2 each. Sweet.

That's pretty great. I'm glad they finally came up with that.

In 3 games, FiveThirtyEight's projections for the Hawks have gone from 38 wins and a 49% chance of making the playoffs to 43 wins and a 73% chance of making the playoffs.

FWIW, last year they projected 46 wins and we won 48.

Also tough to assess with a 3 game sample, but some role players have come up big. Thabo and Muscala have both stepped up their game compared to what I remember last year.

Schroeder isn't lighting the world on fire, but he's also not playing them OUT of winnable games, and the backups have been more than serviceable.

Next three are all winnable - home vs. Lakers, at Washington, home vs. Houston

And then comes something to watch OTHER than election bullshit - Hawks at Cavs next Tuesday on NBATV. That will be a nice early season litmus test.

I was a little annoyed by the Lakers loss. Now I see LA beat the Warriors by 20 last night. I'm not annoyed anymore.

I was worried about possible let down after a big win against the Cavaliers last night but I was pleasantly surprised with this win.

You would think that beating a short-handed Heat team would be nothing to get excited about, but we always seem to have problems when the Heat are down players. That said, I'm real happy to get out of MIA with our 5th straight win.

What happened? I'm flummoxed by this collapse. I don't remember a stretch like this since our string of lottery appearances.
