Virtually everything GOP critics have told us would follow from the policies put in place has not come to pass. You would think that this would occasion a few mea culpas, some rethinking, an admission of poor prognostication. But, alas, it continues.

I was sitting there reading my Center Stage newsletter and thought, "Beth Hart? That sounds familiar." So I clicked on the show info and started reading. I was expecting to read about a minor country-ish act, think Tift Merritt. That's not what I got at all. So I click on the video in the show info and.....

So Mrs. Pacer Fan and I spend the next 30 minutes or so on Spotify and Youtube. Next thing I know I've downloaded 3 albums from Amazon and 4 tickets from Ticketmaster to her June show . Expensive "free" newsletter.

And then this happened....

Saw the Big Easy Brawlers today at house of blues. Nola brass band chops doing funk, rock and hip hop hybrid. I knew these guys were going to kill it in the first 10 measures they played. When I thought they were going to go hard hip hop and scare the white people with mystikals shake ya ass, they did the Beatles come together as a fast funk number followed by brassy blues version of Elvis' I've got a woman. Just ridonkulous.

Singing a Warren Zevon song, the same Warren Zevon that Dave called a "friend of the show" and Warren returned the favor by calling Dave a "great friend of my music".

Another Letterman favorite is Elizabeth Cook. We saw her last night at Eddie's Attic and she told a couple of stories about Letterman that shed a whole new light on him. In a good way. I never watched very much, but he has TREMENDOUS taste in music and does some good things that nobody ever hears about. Unless you were at Eddie's Attic last night.

Tons and tons of good music out there if you keep your eyes and ears open. Too much to listen to in one lifetime.

They are both playing at Kennesaw State next month.

edit: Great stuff. Thanks CTK and juan.
