Top Gun: Don't bother. Although you'd probably enjoy the volleyball scene.

Ferris Bueller: You need to watch. classic

Stripes: You need to watch but stop watching after basic training ends.

Rambo: You mean First Blood? If so, might be worth watching. Pretty good. Don't bother with the sequels.

Any of the Star Wars series made after The Empire Strikes Back: Never seen any myself.

I've still never seen Gone with the Wind.
Virtually everything GOP critics have told us would follow from the policies put in place has not come to pass. You would think that this would occasion a few mea culpas, some rethinking, an admission of poor prognostication. But, alas, it continues.

Don't. We decided to watch it one New Year's Eve instead of going out. A night in the drunk tank would have gone by quicker.
If I was going to do an overrated list (I almost did) this would definitely be on it.

I know my list is longer, they're just not coming to mind right now because, you know, :old:
I feel almost un-American that I haven't seen some of these they're so revered, esp Ferris.

Oh I have no plans to ever watch it. I've got a long list also, but I had seen all of the ones you listed.

Damn right. I wish it had been a movie about volleyball guys that flew jets on the side.

In my mind it kinda was anyway.

The first Star Wars movie is the only one I saw.

Never saw any of the Indiana Jones movies
Nor Diehard
Any of the popular horror series (Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street, etc.)
Any of the Harry Potter series, nor Lord of the Rings.

Caddyshack --> Spectacularly funny. Bill Murray in one of the all time classic, comedy turns. Even Chevy Chase is funny. Highly recommend. Of course I was high.

Blazing Saddles--> Spectacularly funny. Apparently Richard Pryor just missed out on the Cleavon Little role. Not sure it would get made today. I liked Young Frankenstein a little better, but still, highly, highly recommend. Of course I was high.

Annie Hall(although I don't watch Woody Allen movies on purpose these days)
I'm with you on Woody Allen now. That said, Annie Hall and Manhattan were both outstanding films. A 1-2 punch that most directors would kill for.

This doesn't seem like a movie that one would watch for the first time as a mature adult and decide it's a great movie, but the nostalgia factor and all the memorable lines are very fun to re-live. As a result, I watch it whenever I see it on TV.

Ferris Bueller
See above, although I just don't like this one very much.

Rambo
I'm assuming you mean First Blood. This is absolutely worth your time, although the premise for John Rambo flipping out is a bit weak, but I guess it speaks to the plight of Vietnam veterans going untreated and forgotten.
